Convert a photograph into an avatar (which has to be less than 10KB)?

Something happened to my avatar and thought of using a photo for the avatar instead. But don't know how..

The photo I am thinking is 109KB (as a IMG file).

p.s. I already know how to upload a photo onto the forum (only took a couple years to figure that out...Babydoll might by 2011!)

Squeezing it down is a bit of an art.

Email it to me and I will size it for you.

Maybe something with the forum? All the threads on my computer have that icon that indicates an update, even when there isn't.

i'm the serious kind all i see is an x (same as babydoll)

Thanks arnie, sound complicated (downloading, etc.). I'll let Ian do the leg work (as he volunteered). I just need to figure out how to e-mail the picture to him.

Mine is from DF avatars database. Thanks for the link. Let's see if I can do it by myself.
