Anyways, continueing, I am interested in starting our own middle east version of this (not gumball rally) but I was manly wondering if anyone is interested in doing this with me...


Would be great fun, I was thinking a race (excuse me, I mean rally) to the capital city of yemen and back, split up between a few days. Maybe 150 cars, every day drive a to a new city, getting closer to the target, once reaching it, maybe coming back?


I duno, just some ideas. Was wondering if anyone was interested in this, because I am.


Ideas/Suggestions?

Umm, it's about 2500 miles

The dull and traffic-blocking Arab Run was also inspired by this.

One problem with your idea would be to overcome bureaucracy at the border. That, and half the participants will not come back alive. Even the Arab Run parade had a crash.

y dont u keep it within the UAE? from the most western city to the most eastern city.

New plan, since Yemen is having a bit of a civil war it seems like its going to be Dubai to Oman if that, I was looking at the Arab run website and to my suprise it's exactly like my idea, i guess they just got it together faster then I did, oh well...


This won't stop me from continueing to do this... basically oman has a drive thru policy w/ visa's, if you go to the border you can buy your visa (60dhs) or something, for most countries, so i've been reading, shouldn't be a problem..

visit visa for everyone the same? or are their certain people that need different types of visa's, such as going to the embassy or soemtihng 2 get visa

Id say i like the idea about the rally, but it wud be convenient if its inside UAE.. Many people wud take part in it as it wud take place within the border...
