I recently read in some articles about gems and jewelry in this country. Apparently Gold, Diamond & Pearl are HOT to the extend the rich and famous will go to custom-make diamond studded belt, car accessories etc. Do you know what % of the population really live in this type of lifestyle?

What about the wealthy expat community? Will you splurge on your bling blings - and I mean the REAL stuff.

personally id rather deck my house with bang & olufsen speakers, all inlayed in the walls, as well as sound insulate every room independanty of the others, and insulate the entire place.

I think there's a high percentage of real tich people in Dubai, remember a TV segment (Societe') that show a Millionaire's Exhibition held here showcasing the must have for those filty rich, mind you a simple fur coat cost 75K......
