There are 147 "rules" they published. Most fines/points can be awarded in the presence of police or without (photo radar, etc.) Any fines associated with the vehicle=the points will be assigned to the registered owner. That is, unless you get pulled over.

For example..Failing to wear seatbelt= dhs. 400 and 4 points, but you need to be busted in person. Not giving way to pedestrians= dhs. 500 and 6 points, but you need not be pulled over. I saw the boys in green just writing down license numbers yesterday for offences like this.

DON'T LEND YOUR CAR OUT!!!!!

How's this:

Causing death of others=12 points and 30 day confiscation of vehicle, but driving without a number plate is 24 points and 60 days! Wow.

any how its so bad system and i think they have to recheck it before pplz start using taxi when there is no taxi any more

As a 4 time visitor to Dubai and having driven there each time I'll say its about time something was done.Most of the drivers I doubt if they could pass any kind of driving test.Its unbelievably bad and dangerous out there especially teh way u get cut up constantly !

i fail to find any information as to how many black points are you given initially for them to deduct?

does anyone know how you can get it so they send you text alerts if you get done for speeding or whatever

Text alerts will be sent if the tel. number you are holding was the one that you had when you registered the vehicle.

Wha is with foreign driving licence. Can I drive a car for example with Croation's or Bosnian's driving licence.
