As most of us have to drive in Dubai we must make some quick decisions on the road.

And we also have some "prejudices" towards other drivers.

Here is my list of those car makes which I see on the road and think (as a broad general rule) that their drivers are "safe" towards others. That is, they won't be darting into traffic, failing to signal, speeding etc.

1. volvo
2. saab
3. audis
4. BMW's (but only the large models - too many speedy smaller Beamers)
5. Taxis (really, for the most part)

All others are on equal footing. Mercedes might be a safe care in an accident but the drivers are not "safe drivers" at least in Dubai. I think its has to do with the fact than "anyone" can get a mercedes in Dubai - daddy buys it as status etc.

since the black point system has been introduced, the roads are a LOT better... for me personally anyway
