first post, hello everyone...

got here not long ago, and the city seems very under-documented when it comes to its events, time out only showing a glimpse of what its got to offer (or so i hope)

does anyone know where i can get a dose of intelligent forms of music in dubai or abu dhabi.... minimal tech, acid jazz, ambient, chillout, intelligent drum'n'bass, and this maybe pushing my luck, but psy-trance?

also avenues of good live jazz and acid jazz?

intelligent music:

inspiring, able to manipulate your mind and thoughts through soundscapes and intricate precussion.. engineered to create mood either happy or somber, deep or uplifting, driving or mellow.... no lyrics are ever needed - tracks and music speaks for itself if engineered correctly.


i can list you some examples if you like.

Blue bar in the Novotel have Jazz nights.

Also believe it or not Chi club are now running Psy-trance nights every now and again and they're brilliant with drinks only 11 Dhs all night - beat that!!! Will let you know when the next one is.

There are a lot of psytrance people here apart from chi, they used to have psy- tance thursdays at touch in four points sheraton. not sure if its still there... but the actual psy-trance ones are held as private events...

awesome - can someone please give me heads up here when something is going down...

i feel very under-stimulated musically at the moment - im going crazy.
