No, in your case since you're an expat from UK, the UK law shall take precedence over the UAE law when it comes to your will. However; it will be a different scenario if you a muslim.
Sorry mate this is way off and totally incorrect.
If you die "intestate" in dubai your estate does come under the rule of Sharia law for your assets in Dubai only.
This means that your Dubai assets would be distributed to your brother and sons regardless of your wife or partner (if you have one).
I have gone into this because i have considerable assets in dubai and because i am married i had to ensure they were passed to my wife in the event of my death. Please consult a local solicitor and make a will.
If you have no assets in dubai then dont worry.
