Can you guys temme which all places are worth a visit in dubai
and most of the discos and clubs have charged entrances
can you guys temme which all clubs and discos dont have an entrance fee?

what sort of place are you looking for...club, bar...inside, outside...
most clubs the guys pay entrance...ladies free or free before a certain time...

U continue to amuse me.. Mrs.R .. even at this age.. ur energy levels n enthusiasm when ever some topic comes up abt clubs is just wonderful.. and u'dnt even miss a single club opening in dubai.. Thats some drive..

except there is an unbelievebale entrance charge and some allow only couples

sad, especially when it used to win awards of some sort 3-4 years ago ....

Considering the sad state of the party scene (clubs closing at 3 am, gimme a break), it may be a good idea to focus your energies into a knitting circle, far more juice!

oh I totally agree...that is just soooo annoying....clubs don't start getting busy until after 12 even 1 'o clock, so that leaves about 2 hours before closing time...I often wonder how long it will be before they will change the closing times...I think about 8 years ago places stayed open much later....

i went out last time i was in dubai to see ame at the apartment, by the time i got there, got in the mood, ame got on, it was home time... VERY annoying to say the least.

I know...stupid....doesn't matter who is playing, the biggest names can be there but at 3 the lights go on regardless...it's totally frustrating for the DJs as well...

surely someone must be throwing some decent - rather large - after parties somewhere?

Back home it's still 11:30 .. can you believe it? The clubs close at 11:30 pm on an over stretched sat night.. they r open till 12:35 am.. Sad state..

Does anyone know any good live music venues? There is a great band at the Hard Rock, but it is very busy there with all the children and hookers, although the latter seem to have left in recent months. Last Friday I couldn't believe all the kids in there. When I say kids, I mean from a few months old to no more than 8 or 9 years old. They were there till midnight at least. Nice parenting skills!

I DIGRESS..any good tips would be nice.

Celine Dione is coming on March 5....is that a good tip?

Blue bar in the novotel has great jazz bands always. You can also check out Rock bottom the band there is fun, and you wont find any kids .. maybe a couple of hookers.

Maaad, thanks for the lead. Where is Rock Bottom? In the Novotel as well? Mrs. R....I ALMOST said in my previous post that Celine Dion doesn't count, I thought "what are the odds of someone suggesting that?" HA! I saw her show in Las Vegas a couple of years back. I would sooner shoot myself in the foot then endure that torture again!
