Good Quality Bed Sheets Feb 07, 2008
I am looking for some comfortable bed sheets. Nothing too pricey, just comfortable. The sheets that I bought at Carrefour are itchy and awful! Does anyone know of a store with good quality/good priced linens? I particularly like jersey sheets but I am not even going to hope that they are sold around here. Thank you! :)

Carrefour, Lulu, Geant etc usually sell polyester/cotton mix sheets which I find uncomfortable.

I prefer 100% cotton. Ikea are good value, try also Home Center (I think), but for better quality, try one of the specialist shops in a big shopping center.

I saw Geant were advertising 100% cotton sheets not so long ago.

Thank you. :)

I looked at the Home Centre website and I don't see that they sell sheets. I may be wrong though. When you say "shopping center" do you mean "mall"? I have been to Ibn Battuta and Mall of the Emirates and I have not found any good sheets there. :(

Also, the sheets I originally bought were from IKEA, but those were worse than the ones I found at Carrefour. I am looking for more than just 100% cotton... preferably something with a high thread count and Egyptian cotton.

If you have no idea where to find these things no big deal. I will have to search more I suppose. I have googled all the possible word combinations I could think of looking for a place that sells these kinds of sheets in Dubai, no such luck.

Yes :).

Oh. I thought you only saw them in movies  .

There was a shop in Deira City Center, above where IKEA used to be, that sold expensive sheets.

"The One" in Jumeirah might have something. Marks & Spencer in the Wafi? Wafi and BurJaman have more expensive shops, might be worth a look.

Thanks! I am embarking on my sheet expedition tomorrow. Wish me luck. ;)

Debenhams in MOE and Ibn Battuta sell Sheridan Bed Sheets. They are a bit exxy but top quality. Maybe 350dhs a set?

Oh great! I have never heard of Sheridan but I looked them up online and they seem like exactly what I am looking for. :P Thank you.

You guys are very helpful. I've bought 2 different sets of sheets previously only to feel itchy when I am going to sleep.

Hey now. Don't go insulting my hygiene! That's not very nice. :P And no, it's not lack of showers... of course the water here is awful but that's another topic (that I've posted in because finding a freakin shower filter here is not easy).

I have always used either Egyptian Cotton sheets or Jersey sheets both of which are very soft and comfortable. So, to use the scratchy sheets that I bought at Geant and IKEA isn't really working for me. Call me spoiled... but we are all spoiled on some level compared to the majority of the global population. :P
