I'm new in here but it seems that this forum was more active before. There is a new sticky in suggestions by andyba (guess he's the owner) and nobody replied. why no one is discussing things over there? maybe because of the other post that ^ian^ mentioned but it seems that there was a loss in site's revenue and hits and andyba is willing to make some changes.

Its actually much simpler than that...
The Forum attracted a series of subscribers of dubious origin who, for personal reasons known to some still here, insisted on dragging everything down, hacking locked forums and publishing the contents in open session, cyberstalking every member particularly if there was a hint that they may be of the female persuasion and generally pissing off the more serious and valued contributors.
At the time, the Mods and Net Nannies had taken their eye off the ball and all sorts of nonsense was going on that people got away with.
I myself got fed up with members begging for help due to these complete dicks making their lives hell (both cyber and real)
Thankfully, they got bored and wandered off to point and coo at cars elswhere with saliva dribbling from their moronic mouths, taking their idiotic child-like mentalities with them. Hence the reason that I am back!
So now all we need to do is get back to the question of good content. Part of the function of the forum is to help people who DON'T know about Dubai or the UAE and we should be posting content that is informative as well as enlightening. If we decide to shower ourselves in witty banter and generally have a jolly good time doing it, so much the better!
I am considering carefully my next subject posts...
