Except in this instance, Australia is the #1 test team in the world, and has won 16 of their last 17 games.

I think there's reason to hope for the best :-)

Ummm... That would sort of take the "Prediction" part out of this topic....

If we're going to use your methodology, and predict what will happen AFTER the fact, here's my prediction for the 2nd test in Sydney;
"Australia will win the 2nd test in Sydney by 150+ runs and India will whinge about how hard done by they were andl cry until they get the umpire replaced..."
How did I manage to guess so accurately you may well ask??? Well it's due to the fact that I waited and watched until the result was final and then posted.... Incredible stuff.

Now how about you make your prediction??? Or don't bother posting useless drivel...

I thought Haydens' n Clarks were much better.. especially Clark's innings.. But an out of form Punter's innings was gritty.. but I thought he should've opted for retired hurt..instead of going through the pain getting out.

Well, India back in batting now. They will not want to collapse for anything < 250 before lunch tomorrow. Australia on the other hand, can't lose from here.

It's got everything that can make for a nailbiting finish.. if only India can put up a good batting display, fast paced scoring and an aggressive declaration.. If they can score anything above 350 just before lunch tmw n declare.. we've a great game on..

ROFLMAO......

Not much of a cricket fan are you? Though I do admire your optimisim.

India, at best, will salvage a draw from this match. But there's still plenty of time for them to lose it. I for one, have faith in them. Another wicket tonight and there will be some nervous twitching going on in that Indian dressing room.

Thanks for the admiration! I dont have any credential to prove that I'm a big cricket fan but I can sure say I'm not an feather. Honestly, I'vent seen such good cricket from Indian team..its a new rejuvenated team after that 20-20 wc. 8)

I cant see them getting anything but a draw from this game. But I do hope the Aussies bat again it would be fitting for Gilchrist to get the winning run and finish on a high.

Ah.. those 20/20 WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS will do you everytime....

They are playing better cricket though. Trouble is, how far backwards will they go when Tendulkar, Ganguly, Kumble, Laxman & Dravid hang up the gloves in the next 12mths?

8) T20 does the trick all the time.

There's a young Indian team waiting to grab the place n get into the shoes of those greats.

Gilchrist's retirement came as a surprise..but a true legend... would b glad to see him going all out.. if he gets another chance to bat..

You are seriously on drugs....

Beating us in T20 is like us beating you in Aussie rules. Pretty damn easy when you don't play the game!

And excepting Dhoni & Sehwag... Who are in the team anyway, I'm not seeing any future stars on the horizon for india just yet. We're going through now what your about to, the mass retirement of some of the greatest players each respective country has seen. Problem for India is, we're still beating them even with our "New" team of inexperienced cricketers.

Dude Indian cricket team had no experience in T20 before the worldcup started.. learn to face failures and accept the truth. That'd help u with your atrocious yet ridiculous reasoning.

And to tell you who is there in the young Indian team, U'll see soon during the oneday tourney. We've some fresh talent coming up. I dont consider Dhoni as a great batsman. But sure the likes of Yuvraj, Sehwag, Robin Uttapah, Rohit Sharma, Karthik, Gambhir etc r good with the bat

LOL.... I just love that you count the T20 as anything more than it is.. a sideshow. But then again, when it's all you got, you hold on to it for dear life I suppose. Come back and talk about being world champions when you are the best Test playing nation in the world, hold the World cup (Just once will do) or even the Champions trophy.

India is the world no 2 test team right now.. lets see how far they can carry on.. and who says India is the best team in the world. But sure they can whip a lot of teams who claim to be no. 1.
