I'm not from these parts but I've never seen this much rain anywhere!

This is escalated by the fact that there is little (or no) drainage system in this city !

Its because Holy Bush visited the place and now God need to wash his footstep

Thats ok. Concord is clearly affected by the rain. Since he has never seen so much water on the street! Therefore he is forgiven!

you must have missed the rain on the first week that La Riviera tower opened.

It rained so much one morning it over filled the rooftop pool and the top 3 floors/appartments got totally flooded and blew all the electrics in the building.

Ahhhh thats why I had a electicity trip this morning in the house !

I better archive my outlook for the swarm of Sharjah flood photos.

We only get a 100 meg limit here at the Sheikh's palace.

Loving every moment.. Was missing this.. coz i'm used to heavy rains back home..

Crazy rain but a welcome relief to those waiting for the rain.

Dunno how I'll reach work tomorrow morning.... or home this evening for this matter

I have to say, I am loving the rain. It reminds me so much of home where it rains for the entire winter.

Traffc is crap (as usual) and roads are terrible though...

I think 1995 had far more than this, I remember Al Wahda St. in Sharjah with around 1.3m of water and it stayed around for months. Also same year a hail storm that dumped about 10cm in about 10 minutes.

Yes, far more is right. I seem to remember a 2 week period of rain every day almost all day. And at times hosing down much more than the drizzle we had today.

Was that the year the trade center underpass filled up with water?

It seemed more because the drainage system back then was worse than it is now. There was a time in the early 90s when Karama used to be underwater every winter. Then they dug up all the roads and upgraded the drains. Now there's barely a puddle above 2 inches.

The lake outside my house looks quite clear. What might be a problem are the cockroaches. We had to lift all the drain covers yesterday in an attempt to relieve the flood level and the manholes were absolutely full of swimming cockroaches, some of them huge!

I did see one with a mask and snorkel...

Yeah, and they did not open the pool for months. It was funny, someone took pictures of the empty pool and put many "for sale" signs in the elevators for days. The text read, "Beautiful never used roof deck pool for sale, dimensions L x W, imported tile and the finest filtration system - never used. All offers will be considered". It was a running joke and the management had the security guards playing "detective" - they never figured it out!
