I went to recycle stuff today at the Spinney's in Umm al Queim this morning and behind me was this "I am better than you because I recycle" woman "with the attitude of two moderators"....

She had no more than 5 items in her bag (2 cans, 1 bottle and a few newspapers) but perhaps thought she was single-handedly saving the environment and the planet. Funny thing, guess what she was driving?















Well, a Hummer that gets 8 miles per gallon (for you wankers who measure in kms or liters - well, it means a lot of fuel/petrol to go a short distance). Just had to laugh at the hyprocosy (and of course I got into my 4x4, 12 cylindrer SUV and drove away).

It's just a feel good act anyway. I'm 90% sure it all gets burnt or turned into landfill.

True, some have seen the workers mix all the recyclables into one pile when putting it in their truck. Some also have this weird idea that their stupid Hummer is "safer," when it will be the first vehicle to roll over in a shunt.

But which SUV has a 12-cylinder engine?
