Are there any reigions or areas of shops that are dedicated to furniture stores? Is there a place where I can go that has a number of different furniture stores in it? Like a district or something.

Also what are some of the better furniture stores in Dubai, and where can I find them?

Cheaper Furniture is available in Sharjah.

Run of the mill stuff

Home Centre - Mall of the Emirates
Homes R Us - SZR Mazaya Centre
Ikea - Festival City

A fairly good shop in Wafi Mall close to the old food court. (Floor below)

I am sure that their are plenty more, that others will advise you of.

I am looking for more traditional pieces of furniture, maybe some wood workings too. I'm not really looking for the cheap stuff.

as per the few places you mentioned, is there anywhere I can go that will have a few furniture stores within an area i.e. like an electronic or gold district?

Not really a district in the same way other industries are, tho Al Quoz near Mall of the Emirates has quite a few of these stores dispersed around an industrial estate. You need to know where you're going tho...

Go to the Mall of Emirates, there are around 10 nice furniture stores...

souq dot com has range of bargain new and used furnitures as well as unique ones.

I was reading somewhere online, and I came across something called the Dubai Design Centre? Does anyone know if this project has opened yet or when it will open?
