Foodies pls contribute Nov 11, 2007
Are you bored with your everyday take out food? Not sure what to eat anymore. Not sure what to order. Not sure which restaurant to order from. And I dont mean fine dining.

Yup, I ran out of options. Anyone has any other suggestion (take out or dine in) around the new Dubai area besides the following:
Beirut, Jasmine Moon, China Palace, Ibn Battuta food court, MOE food court, Knowledge Village foodcourt, Hard Rock, Marina Walk, KFC, Mac's, Burger King (fast food in general)

Maybe Burton can help if he hasnt started working yet :)

A "Recommended Restaurants in Dubai by DF members" thread was started in the travel forum some time back. Take a look and contribute, etc. http://www.dubaiforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=17230

There is also a thread titled “Recommended Bars in Dubai by DF members” http://www.dubaiforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=17233

Enjoy

Concord wrote:DF Members "Recommendations" at start of thread:

Asian Cuisine – Wagamama [Concord – “I have never had a bad meal or complaint about Wamagama”] at the Crown Plaza - Sheik Sayed road.

Steak House - Manhattan Grill [Noni – “always delicious”] at grand hyatt

Chinese – China Sea - [Jeevan - “Many would agree on this one “] at clock tower roundabout.
Chinese - 4 seasons @ Rydges Plaza [Look4theBest - "the Four seasons top of Rydges PLaza is great! Can't beat the crispy Duck pancakes and a few cold beers']

Lebanese -Al Mallah restaurant [XTY -. “Best shawarma sandwich in town”] at Dhiyafah road.

Lebanese - Arz Lebanese restaurant [XTY – “Tasty boneless chicken”] at DIC etc.

Arabic - Al Damyati [V-Man – “ its not a posh place but its tasty”]...

Malaysian – Sky Tower Malasyan [Coops “is great - just simple food but really tasty!”] the first malaysia restaurant at the top of....sky tower (i think thats the one - next to Al Attar on SZR). [look4thebest – “I agree Sky Tower Malaysian is great!!”]

There were others mentioned in the thread, etc. Mexican, Chinese, Seafood, etc.

Right, I go to the Choitrams there sometimes. Saw the restaurant but never think twice about it. I shall check it out then! Thanks.

For decent falafel, I like Al Hallab in MOE next to Cinestar cinemas.

For delivered pizza (in the marina) I order from Oregano.

For cheap, good pakistani, go to Ravis (Rydges Plaza)!!!

There's also a Thai restaurant on Beach Rd, looks quite dingy, but bloody good. Forget the name.

For a Saturday brekky, I like LimeTree cafe beach rd, near Jumeirah mosque. Get in early though it gets crowded!!

Maybe people go there for the flies? Like pigeons at Trafalgar Square?

Pardon my ignorance but when my girlfriend got married in Pune, she cried the moment she landed at the airport. Her feedback was there was nothing but cows and sands !!!!

I pack my own lunch. Good thing, we have microwave in the office. My abodo, crabmeat and corn soup smell all the time after re-heating using the microwave. Hehehe. Colleagues are happy because they can join and sip some asian soup.

If I am so tired and wasn't able to cook, I usually order from KFC and Popeyes.
