It seems the best speed available here is 2mbps. I thought theis was the 'Technology hub of the Middle East". In Eastern Europe we get 12mbps for half the price.
Is there any news/thoughts on when real broadband might arrive here?

Well the ISP here has a monopoly so there's no need to improve service.
To put it in contrast, the average broadband speed in Japan is 60 mb/s at a quarter of the price here, imagine their top speeds...

well speakin abt price we cant do anything over there as there r 2 Broadband connections, once u live here 4 sometime u will get used too all this.... Monoply stuff....
