I got a 16meg connection and the index page to this forum has been painfully slow this week?

8/16 meg is pretty well near the standard here in UK mate. A bit cheaper comes 2/4meg.

and yes i pay the equiv of 200dhs a month for this speed, it goes to show how you guys are being ripped off.

Etisrobalot/DIC and DU all have the technology to provide the faster speeds but they choose to keep you slow at the ridiculous high prices they charge.

Basically why supply 8meg plus speeds when you lot pay buckets of money for 512k/1meg.

On their charging structure if you had a 8 meg line it would be over a 1000 Dhs a month

I’ve had many issues in the past where this page has been uber slow and everything else has been quick but this hasn’t happened in the last couple weeks for me.

on a side I know what you mean about us being ripped off here, A 10mb line was about AED 100 in Canada/prices are shit here

You may or may not both be right or wrong, however it is better than having a fax with a revolving drum (3 minutes per transmission) or worse having to drive for 6 hours to make a simple phone call. I am thankful for what we have
