Apparently the launch date has been set to October 10. I hope there will be another bundle than bluray Spiderman 3. I'm still waiting for the rumble controllers to come out in November.

Instead of dropping the price, why don't they release more and better games?

Not starting a console war here (I think the PS3 is pretty cool), but the XBox is murdering it on sheer games alone.

Don't forget that the PS3 has been out for less than a year (compared to 2 for the 360), just to put your mind at ease, here's a look at the christmas/2008 lineup of exclusives:

As I said, I don't want to start console wars.

The exclusives coming are good, but they need more than that I reckon. The XBox has nearly twice as many exclusives coming out.

No one's starting a console war, the games I really want to play (FF13, MGS4, GT5) are all PS3 exclusives. I have my PC for shooters. You might prefer the ones coming out on Xbox, it's all a matter of taste.

But some of the above mentioned gamez ain't pS3 exclusive

P.S : i have a 360 & I'm gonna get a pS3 very soon ..both consoles have their equal share of great games :

The ones i would recommended all xbox360 owners are:

Halo 3 (it blew me away)
Bioshock (a beautiful and a great game)
Gear of War (for non stop action)
Raibow six las vegas (wow)
Oblivion (God of all RPGs .....its not a game its real)
GRAW (so hard and so good)

Correct, the games you mentioned are just timed exclusives for the PS3, meaning they will be released a few months before the Xbox versions.

Back to the original post, anyone have any info on what bundles/price we will be seeing in Dubai for the 40GB PS3? I personally rather have a game than a bluray movie.

why bother with a 40gb ps3 when the 60gb version is 1700AED?

the 40gb version is (as i heard it) without ANY backward compatability, 4 usb ports reduced to 2, and no menory card slots. rip off.

Huh, where did you find the 60GB for 1700? The only price I saw it at was 2200 with Resistance or 2500 with 2 games + extra controller.

UPDATE: Just contacted Sony middle east (800-SONY) and they said they were releasing the Spiderman 3 bundle in mid-october for 1,800 AED and the and the FIFA 2008 bundle for 1,850 AED a month later.
