Interested in Dell XPS laptop (top specs, cool look) to replace my 3 years old HP Compaq which starting to show its "old age sickness" (though the spec is still more than enough).
How is the Dell service center quality in Dubai?

I dont know about dells service center in Dubai, but I can tell you that I am very happy with my purchase of an LG laptop (at last years Gitex).

No crashes, fast performance and happy with build quality.

I have seen a good price vs Spec model for sale at Jackies/Jumbo:

LG R405 (as advertised somewhere in Gulf News).... 4,799

here are the key specs:

- Core Duo T 7300 (2.0 Ghz 4 mb cache, 800 mhz fsb)
- 2gb ram
- 160gb SATA HD
- ATI 256mb graphics

Thanks for the info on LG. Good specs you have, almost similar to the Dell I'm eye-ing.
My wife likes the white keyboard LG has.

Other than good specs (which should last at least 3-5 years), (sleek) model is on top of my criteria too (I don't mind spending 500 AED more). Most of laptops either too ugly/boxy or too common as with Toshiba & shinny-black-HP (except the white one).

The smaller 13.3" screen Dell XPS is even more compelling as actually I'm looking on small screen laptops (more compact on traveling). However, 1000 AED difference (5700+) makes me think 1.5 times
