Are all slim PS2 sold in Dubai DVDR/region-restricted?

I was thinking to ask my relative to bring to Dubai next month from my home country. It's about 200 Dhs more expensive, but most likely it's been mod-chipped (warranty void) so to play region-free & DVDR games & films. Is it worth it?

Is it easy to burn PS2 DVD games ISO from "out there"?

i had my ps2 modded here for about AED 100, games are pretty readily available for about AED 10 each, i'd say a min of about 7 out of 10 you buy work great.

yes, the place I went to was in Sharjah at the old/blue souk there were a ton of stores there that sell games and mod, just go to any of them and ask, there is also a place in Deira City Centre that does it but I can't remember the name, one of the little kiosks that sells games. Also a few places near naïf. Before I buy a new one though I’d go for a drive and check the places out, make sure you’re comfortable then commit. Also I modded mine over 2 years ago, things may have changed.
