I am moving to Dubai in a week or so and i was wondering if there is any kind of alternative music scene.

I like a wide range of alternative music such as

Non commerial dance (hardcore & gabber)
Drum and Bass
Industrial Metal
Punk
Metal

Basically i like most things as long as it's loud and noisy!

Are there any venues in Dubai where i can find any of the above?

hey been looking for simlar nights myself (excluding the dance and gabber) only thing that comes close is twisted meons witch is held once a month in a club called ibo it is more of an indie/rock night but have been a couple of times and was good night still on the hunt for d&b night apparently also held at ibo not manage to track one down yet. if you find one let me know. oh and welcome to dubai

As for the metal scene,

There is the yearly Desert Rock festival. This year it brings us Iron Maiden, Incubus, In Flames, Mastodon, Children of Bodom, The Prodigy, and Stone Sour.

as for the local scene, It's a small community. Quite a few good bands that don't play often, but there's always an underground (small) gig going on somewhere.

I have to go back to UK for 2 weeks, and guess what, I will miss this

I would really love to see The Prodigy live
