hi,
I am planning on moving to Dubai shortly and wondered if selling off some assets whilst based in dubai would make good sense. Would i be free from any UK Taxes, such as Capital gains etc?

Hehehe, nice try, but sadly no. You're still liable to pay taxes in the country you own and sell assets in.
