We still have the highest GDP, a military that is capable of being deployed anywhere around the world, a projection of force unmatched by any nation, the most wide spread culture throught the world. Everywhere in the world you go you see American named brand products, American TV shows and movies. I know that China and India have made significant progress toward becomming a superpower but they are far from it. Both nations have a significant portion of there population living in severe poverty. The gov't of China is a communist dictatorship that treats its people like crap. Neither country is capable of defending itself outside of there own boarders. The European Union is also far from being a superpower. The may have a very high GDP and strong currency, but there is not much unity between many of the member nations. Especially between Eastern and Western Europe. The only nation in the world that even comes close to the force projection of the US is the UK and the commenwealth nations. However, I do understand why people think China, the EU, or India is a superpower. They are NOT and it is just a big media hype about them being a superpower. If you want real news, do not listen to CNN, FOX, MSNBC, or BBC. They put a huge spin on things. They are there to sell a story not tell you the truth!
oh sarcasm lol i thought u really mean that!
no one can deny that America is a superpower but also no one can deny that thanks to the president u passionately hate the image of ur country in the world has been seriously damaged. dont get me wrong, i am from eastern europe and after many years of comunism and dictatorship ppl in my country started to see America as a role model, as a resort...there r things about ur country, some values that r still appreciated yet some actions of ur gov. represent a threat to any citizen of this world who loves peace but most of all: the country that was once admired and respected is now dissed and it''s government reproved on the international political scene...and that is the first step to isolation which is not a matter to be neglected----not even for a superpower
