Hi,
I'm an IT guy (currently in Australia) with 11'ish years' experience in systems and network infrastructure (Microsoft/Citrix, Novell, Unix-like, Cisco). I've worked for professional services/systems integrators all my career.
In terms of current certs I've mostly been buried in the Cisco world for the past few years so I've got CCDA, CCNP and CCSP. I've got some older ones too, e.g. MCSE (NT and Win2K), CNE (NetWare 5.x), CCA (MetaFrame 1. etc.
I know it's all subjective, but I've applied for a bunch of roles in Dubai and have heard nothing back. From reading through this forum I've noticed a lot of other people say the same thing, however I can't help but wonder if I'm getting filtered out because I don't have a relevant (or any) bachelor's degree.
Do I need a degree to be considered for positions based in Dubai?
Or do I just need to bite the bullet, show up in town and start, er, 'networking'?
cheers!
