Considering the high risk of accidents in Dubai's traffic what is the worst act by the driver have you seen while driving. Here are mine :

Talking on mobile phone (guess everyone must have seen it)
Sending SMS
Lighting a cigarette (i guess this is not even considered dangerous at all now while driving)
Combing hair (by a lady)
Face make up (again by a lady)
Eating a burger (not by a lady)
Playing flute
Reading news paper

What have you seen..?

Accelerating and applying brakes gently....

Most driver here really lake the experience in rapid response and quick decision making.

I know many elder people have been driving for the last 16 years who i can truely say are a hopless case in traffic and in roads where ppl drive fast.

Most accidents are a cause of the driver not being fully aware of all the cars around him (left, right, behind, front)

Some just focus in front of them...some keep using the rear mirror more than needed...as a result...they get a suprise to see someone on their left...right behind them..or slamming the breaks infront of them..therefore they are too slow to react and end up either hitting someone or slamming the brakes and having someone hit them.

I hate driver next to such drivers...u can EASILY SPOT them from their driving style.....makes me nervous so i tend to move away from them.

Bad drivers =
Slow response
Bad decision making
Pushing the brakes to often
Driving to slow (60km-90km) in sheikh zayed road in the middle or fast lane! And vise versa.

What mostly makes me go mad is when a driver tries to push himself in the queue (where obviously he was not waiting for his turn) and thinks he is entitled to get the room in the queue. If you don't let him in...he goes nuts like it was his moral right to snatch the place. On top of that...he shows you his fury when he comes near you.

I have actually been involved in situations where the other driver knew he was doing wrong and was just trying to make you mad...when he succeed....you can see him laughing in your back mirror

Accident due to

Couple lip kissing in the car.
Driver whether it be the father or mother holding the kid on the lap while driving.
Going to sleep in the car.

Driving without lights in the dark is scarily common.

Lane discipline is terrible as above mentioned.

Pushing in without warning/ indication far too common.

Driving in the wet is atrocious. I had a topic about it a couple of months ago, witnessed my 2nd car accident in the wet yesterday when a young local slammed his brakes on, hit a puddle and rammed in to a car doing half his speed in the lane beside him. Guy in the car that was hit was from Asia so no doubt the police found a way to make it his fault even though he was driving impeccably for the conditions

Friday's parade - saw 2 children sitting on the top of the landcruiser motoring along while dad was driving it. Well, they weren't even really part of the parade as I saw them in Satwa.

I wonder who he'd blame if they fell off and died... probably anyone but himself.

Yesterday I saw a guy going against the traffic flow on Al-Khail road while it was packed with fast driving vehicles. He was just trying to save some distance so he could take the turn

Beat that!

Just last week I saw 2 guys praying in front of their car, which they had parked in the fast lane on Sheikh Zayed road.

I think that they must have been praying that no one would run them over.

the main problem i see is too slow in the faster lanes. you're driving along szr and suddenly everyone is wildly changing lanes around some idiot driving 60 kph. of coarse there's also the other side. guys driving way too fast in heavy traffic. the worst are the slow ones though.
