Although holding a UK license, what would be the consequences of being caught driving under age? I know a fine would be incurred whilst not holding a UAE licence and the vehicle temporarily confiscated...

Is prison and deportation a risk?

I wouldn't condone this but out of couriousity how old are you? is a UK driving license given at 18 or 16? if you are 18, I think you could drive in dubai, not sure but I know of an 18-19 year old resident from the UK who has her UAE license and drives here. she just transferred her UK one over.

To be honest I don't even know what the driving age here is for sure but I'd guess 21.

Driving age is 18, I don't know about the UK, but for German driving licenses they can transfer it and get a UAE one easily...

You can transfer your UK licence, but you are supposed to have had your full licence for a year. Mind you, I'm not sure how carefully they check that. I was driving here a month after passing my test in the UK.
