Fayz, I did read it again and my feeling is that this was turn into a "racism" discussion and Scarlet was the first to use the word "racist(everything else was an "assumption" - that 16 bachelors are from a particular race or that 'canadians" are one race). And Fayz, I don't have to assume about some of your political viewpoints, because we have discussed them, rarely on the forum but also on Messenger and in person. I don't know all of your political viewpoints and haven't claimed so. Also, the fact that you are highly selective in who you support (forum friends or other forum posters) and who you don't online and offline tells a lot too. I'm sure you can say the same about me in who I support and who I don't. When arniegang has said some offensive things I didn't jump on him publicly all the time, would sometimes pm him. That is because I have a fondness for him, even if we disagree on many things. I still talked to him by pm about it.

I wonder why you have such a hard time understanding one's opinions at times. I made my overpopulation statement pretty clear; just because population is theoretically sustainable does not make it OK for the population to continue expanding IMHO (the environment continues to suffer). You're very smart, logical and usually unbiased but occasionally you become as stubborn as a mule (the "why do women wear revealing clothes" thread comes to mind) and flat out refuse to see one's viewpoint for what it is. Then again, you're just a man. (I'm still the president of your fan club though.)

Quickly addressing your point though:
I like to think I'm tolerant about other people's personal views. What I am stubborn about though is 'spin' and scaremongering based on misleading statistics or faulty logic. In this case - problems with environment are caused by over-population. I'm happy for this premise to be a theory one holds dear, but where facts are verifiable and there is a scientific body of research that backs up (or in this case debunks) a theory, I will point out that research.

About this thread - I'm staying out of this for now.
