Al Shamil - heeeeeeelp! Jan 15, 2007
Anyone had the same problem? I keep getting a 'page cannot be found' message when I'm trying to connect to the Internet and a 'TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection' when I try to repair it.
I've tried everything. A system restore worked once but now won't. I've tried reinstalling the hardware and the drivers.
I've tried calling the al Shamil help desk but their number is always busy! When I called the general helpline number, they gave me the number of Al Shamil sales - and it was busy too :x

It's a stand alone. When I checked my settings, the TCP/IP is checked. Haven't checked the network card drivers though. What should I look for?

ok may be i can help you now is alshamil a connection thru a telephone line or a DSL. ( sorry but i have high speed DSL at my office so am not aware).

Now if its through telephone line check if the modem is working correclty, does it dial out? does it make those weird fax like noises? if yes go to your network connections right click - go to properties. select networking -highlight TCP/IP connection and click on the properties tab, make sure select IP address automatically is selected. does it show any DNS address in there? if etisalat has given u one put it in there ( am not sure what the DNS here is). click ok and check

If its through a netwrok cable

open internet explorer go to internet options - select connections- select the option never dial a connection. click on the tab that says lan settings select the option that sys automatically detect the settings and bypass proxy server for local addresses. click apply and ok.

lemme know what happens
