Workshop recomendation Needed Jan 11, 2007
Hello there people, I just got myself an X5 and found that the AC is not working properly. It has a lot of hissing sound when the compressor is turned on and does not feel cold even in this nice winter weather.

Can anyone recomend me a good decent AC workshop to look at this? Also, the windows of my car has been tinted very dark, does anyone know where I can go and get them removed and replaced wth a less dark film?

Finally, there is a slight dent on the rear boot, does anyone know a good body workshop that will not chrage an arm and a leg to fix it?

Would appreciate some advise on this.

Cheers.

For ANY car with a/c problems, these are the people i recommend:

AMEPX

Deira Location: 04-2695869

They have a location in Al Quos, call the Deira branch and get their Al Quos Branch if you like.

Those guys KNOW what they are doing, 25+ years in the a/c business in the UAE, i recommend them to ALL my friends or to anyone with ac problems. Not ONE came back to me with an issue.

They COULD be expensive, when it comes down to serious faults (such as compressors and condensors), but overall, they are #1 in my book with AC.

Besides, they are the ONLY ones who give 6 months hassle free, no questions asked warrenty.

To be honest, don't get me wrong but the 'best' paintshops you can find in the UAE are in Sharjah.

Dubai, they charge 8,000+ and i was not too happy with the jobs, because all they did was sand down the body till they reached the factory primer, added bondo ON the primer (BIG no no) and painted over it.

Sharjah is a lot cheaper, and at least, they do it the right way, it may look as if they don't know what they are doing, but they do.

Honestly, i want to have the entire car sandblasted (fastest and best method of removing paint, primer + filler), get down to bare metal, and have the car painted from scratch again.

It may cost more for X5 though, especially when it's deep.
