Yesterday Oprah opened a school complex in South Africa which she funded ($40M). The school is for young girls who would not otherwise have the opportunity. Amazing modern complex (28+ acres).

Great story.

Oprah have done and still doing great stuff for others who are in need for help!

Too bad she won't run for President! Although she likely has more power in the position she is in now.

Well done to Oprah however, I find it sad that South Africa is not a poor country and yet it takes people outside of it to do things like this.

I think the SA Gov should be ashamed and stop lining its own pockets and start giving it to those that need it.

Amen to that, much more deserving causes in Africa outside of SA

There certainly appear to be many more people with big bank accounts than hearts (except for cardiology departments in hospitals).

well it is her money and she has the right to decide where and how to spend it. she must have had a good motivation to do that in SA. no matter where it was done, it was a great thing. there r others who have lots of money and couldn't care less about such things
