Has anyone else noticed that Etisalat is not allowing HTTPS traffic to go through? Everything from MSN, to logging into Hotmail, to logging into GMail via HTTPS is not working.

I'm in Jumeirah, anyone else seeing this?

well it wont work unless the server supports https, it working fine with me and im living in jumeriah

did you try to put in your "Connections" at the browser the etisalat proxy?

proxy1.emirates.net.ae port 8080

no go.

i called etisalat support today, they say its because of the earthquake in taiwan, which i think is pure BS, seeing as other people in dubai can log into msn..

oh ok that explains why the internet was so slow.

well there isnt much we can do until they splice the fibers together

There was a major internet (etisalat) wire cut today by construction workers that shut a lot of internet traffic down, actually this is why the stock exchange was closed today. if your problem is only from today this may be the reason.

if it is a long standing problem, I would start by removing the proxy, clearing your cache, cookies and history and then restarting the browser, see if that helps. good luck dude

This is true, most of UAE users are having difficulty logging into MSN. It seems the earthquake has damaged 17 Microsoft servers (Including the MSN). Microsoft promised to restore the servers within days.

Mines is working fine... but im in Internet city!

even im having problems....

cant log into MSN or hotmail...

i cant even play BF2 properly..

could be the earthquake problem..

i love that a critical place like the stock market doesnt have a plan B incase its ISP etisalat goes down (which is not so rare as we all know)
