Hey Down2earth

For your level of experience AED45 + car is market rate in the construction industry - what sort of company (ie. contractor? Client side?). I am finding at the moment AED40 - AED55K seems to be the rough range for PM type roles - just depends which company.

these two threads should likely be merged as it is the same guy asking the same question.

down2earth,

Couple of pointers for you:

1)Search this forum to get a general idea of cost of living (much of it will be Dubai, wheras you could be in Sharjah, which may be slightly cheaper)

2) Schooling - I take it this has to be paid for by you?

3) Any bonuses or gratuity?

4) Your salary here will be tax free. Do you have to pay any back in NZ like they have to in the USA for expat workers?

5) Flights per year for you and your family - is this paid for by you?

6) Annual leave = normally 30 days per year.

7) Are you affected by the exchange rates. This may have some bearing on your expected "savings". Also if you have a mortgage back in NZ.

I know is off topic but btw the new Labor law is going to decrease this to 21 days to become in line with other GCC countries.

Maaad,

Is that 21 working days or 21 calendar days?
