Just wondering if anyone is using slingbox player in Dubai.

I have just setup my slingbox in the UK and i am planning to use it to watch UK TV when i move to Dubai in the new year.

I am just hoping Etilsat don't block the TCP ports it requires

No one else Slingboxing it ? ? ?

My slingbox is setup and ready for use, so i am looking forward to try it out when i arrive in Dubai in the next couple of weeks

I have already used it over the net from within the UK and it's working well because i have about 380kbit upload rate with my provider

no worries keep us posted on how you make out, I'm going to bring one back with me in July so I'd be keen on hearing your experiences.

I am now in Dubai and i am pleased to say that my Slingbox is working perfectly. I am getting a download rate of about 356 Kbps from my slingbox back in the uk, which means that i can watch Sky at nearly full screen on my Macbook. I am in the Lakes and my ISP is DIC Telecom

Later on this year Sling media are releasing something called SlingCatcher which is a box that allows you to stream content to your local TV which should be great for me!
