DFers, what are your motivations behind "subscribing to virtual clubs", like DF?
is it a substitute to real company
is a virtual relationship a safer alternative to a real one?
is it 'cos the focus aint on looks and materiality?
or is it a place to dream... where everything is possible.. boundaries removed... we're shielded by a virtual mask.. a sort of permanent innocent game.. eventually...

More of a place for careless idle chat and skiving off work

I have no real answers. I just let it be whatever the outcomes. I was really bored one time i ended up surfing all the websites around the planet and here i found DF.

Just looking around to find job in Dubai and I saw the DF and here I am posting.

just for chatting i guess, and a good way to advert for an event (cheaper than calling people )

this is an excellent search engine, u can look up review, get help, search for any tips on 'dating', its great, and i have friends now that i have met.

also a place you can make friends and learn about different cultures

information, meeting people - i have met some real good friends coz of the forum, networking, and ofcourse take your mind off the daily mundane tasks

well as for me, i plan to work in Dubai and i think this is the best site i saw where i can steal some ideas all about Dubai...

i like to know pplz arround the world and know more about different cultures, its help to understand the community we living in now i mean DXB
also nice place for chating but i hate cheating from who use the blind scene of internet and make a virtual personality not belong to him or her just to make what he cant do or say in real for that i wrote short about my real on my signature.

why did the forum lose activity? Would expect more expats means more activity...

I guess anonymity is what makes every one here comfortable. Besides, there are smart people in here and I have to say I am surprised...

It was extremely active (and is increasingly so again) but a few trolls and numpty heads decided it was a target for their own stupidity personal peccadilloes and petty jealousies. They are long gone and its better without them.
