I'll start working in my position next month and my manager asked me to choose one of these two banks (Standard Chartered or HSBC) to receive my monthly salary from? Which is do u think better?

Depends on what you need to do with the money.
If you need to transfer it to another account somewhere in the world, I would choose HSBC simply because their international money transfers between HSBC accounts worldwide is a lot cheaper.
Otherwise, go read the websites and see what the differences are.
