Tsunami usually happens in the Pacific Ocean and not in the Gulf.

yeh ur rite tsunami happens on da other side of the earth but it can happen in da gulf region. all u need is a earthquake in IRAN, Pakistan oR IRAQ and BANG u ll get ur self a tsunami. by da way i dont know if u believe in god but as i see it since He created everything, he decides which way da window goes and which way da sea flows, am sure with a click of a finger He can make one awsome Tsunami. i know wot u thinking this guy is chatting bull but hey did da ppl in da pacific expect da tsunami that hit them hmmm no i dont think they expected that

Seismologist can predict (not sure though) the tsunami by the magnitude & energy pulse of the earthquake through satellite and the purpose of prediction is to give warning to the people that natural calamities are coming. However, the tsunami that happened in asia wasn't able to predict as the earthquake originally starts from sumatra and they thought it won't reach that far, but the pulses have several levels, which they failed to see. Also, the earthquake starts from the deep water.

I know the site you mean. My interest in the industry was primarily financial but was blown away by the pics. Those guys get a hard on for new types of concrete mix.

Tsunami has been seriously considered during the development of the Palm / World, however due to the fact that the Gulf waters are so shallow it is considered impossible to be able to develop and sustain such a tidal wave as seen in Sri Lanka etc.
