From the Meatloaf song....What do you think "that" is? Do you have a "that"?

There's a duet of this song...i like the piano..

That - exophoric reference to S.E.X? it could also be anaphoric to diff feelings...

scarlet dear, i heard this song when i was still 13 yr old. A classmate of mine presented this song in our music class. But i think "that" is already revealed in the song in which it's mention or it's still a puzzle? Let me check the whole lyrics again, but i have to attend some external auditors.

Well, I doubt it means s.e.x. or has anything to do with sex.

I think it actually means "sell ones soul to the devil" as a continuation of "Bat of Hell" etc. etc.

Anyway, I'll ask Dr. D when he returns from vacation.

I'll do anything for love, but I wont do "that" - 'that' here could mean, he would always be there for her, and would "never" leave her.

But then again, its open to interpretation - could mean something else altogether from someone else's point of view.

Tend to agree with Ian or Dr. D, which ever is the person he is when he wrote that down.



Anyway for that particular line, I believe it is saying, that he will do anything except for mercy killing his/her lover.

Being more acurate, "that" is infidelity and letting love fade. As the lyrics say, the guy is confirming that he will not "move on" from the love he has found and that he won't be "Screwing around".
