With the Thanksgiving Holiday's coming (I know I'm not in America now), what are you thankful for?

Im thankful for the life that I have, my experiences (both good and bad) and the people that I have known and am begining to know.

I am also extremely thankful for my younger sister. Because without her, I dont think i could be the person I am today. I know I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for her. She saved my life, more than once

Good one Concord! Instead of family, I'm having about 30 people over for Thanksgiving that don't have family here!!! Can't get away from it all! But very thankful for FRIENDS.

Thankful I was born in Australia, best goddamn country on the planet.

Thankful for Guinness.

Thankful that the best goddamn country on the planet has the best goddamn cricket team on the planet.

Thankful Sam Raimi has made Spiderman 3, which looks kickass. He should have made it in Australia (the best goddamn country on the planet) and it would have been better, but he'll keep.

:-)

I'll have a turkey sandwich and ponder what thanksgiving means to me.

Probably indigestion as well.

I was going to see if Bushra could arrange the UAE helicopter to take me to Barracuda for a liquor run! I will call her tomorrow for assistance.

We all have so much to be thankful for.

We have the opportunity to live in such an outstanding country as the UAE.

Health, family, friendships, faithful pets, and the list goes on!

This is our first abroad assignment. From what I have heard it is a wonderful place to be,in comparison to many other places, and damned lucky to be here at the moment. Love the weather, the beach, the sun, and living in here in general. Have met many good friends, and had much fun. There is no place like home though.

I was simply wondering if you could share your thought on the differences between UAE and USA and why UAE is outstanding compared to USA. And not from what you have heard but from your own experience.

Same here - but not attached to any "national" holiday.

Just driving in a car in Dubai as opposed to one of those non airconditioned buses with slave labor is enough for me to be thankfull.

BTW, I don't even own the car.

Concord after some thought (although it is really deep subject for me this late), it is more on a personal note that I am glad to be here. I owned my own businesses for 20 years, raised children, and held the fort down while my husband was on his career path....it was time for a change! I sold the businesses and now can kick back some and support my husband and his opportunity here in Dubai. The timing was incredible and so appropriate for us to leave home as we are empty nesters now, and can travel, expand our relationship together without children, and do something different after 30 years of marriage.

The beauty of the UAE to me is that it is a big sophisticated place to live and is so westernized that I almost feel like I'm at home. Like I said before, I would rather be "home", but this is a great opportunity, and if we wouldn't have moved, I would be working my ass off every day all day running businesses, and not enjoying my life as I am today.
