Extrapolated from discussion on the thread Western Expat ratio thread,
DK and Ian are raving abt how the members of ever mysterious s.ex look at men at clubs and end up with trash, while the good, genuine men sit at a corner and discuss some serious issues at some genuine club in the town thinking that a well mannered, gorgeous ravishing girl with a heart of gold would come and talk to them.

That makes me wonder.. Is there even a small possibility of that happening..?

It happens, but I don't think the chances of it happening in Dubai are very high at all. Mostly because there is a dire shortage of these 'genuine clubs'.

Also, I think the likes of DK and myself are propping up the end of the bar, drinking our Guinness and discussing the finer points of manhood are not sitting their waiting for a girl to walk up. On the contrary, we're enjoying ourselves, talking about things that matter, and in general getting on with our lives in an extremely refined and civilised manner.

If a girl finds this interesting, she is welcome to join us, but there are no expectations that this will happen.

I have never had a successful relationship from a nightclub liaison. Now that I'm getting to those years where I'm looking long term, I do rather enjoy the quiet, refined, intellectual, intelligent, stimulating conversation at the bar, as opposed to posing and trying to fluff my tailfeathers in the right combination to attract some random bird.

Genuine love is made in heaven. You can't find it even in genuine clubs.

There's no genuine club in dubai as far as i know. I would like to write more but i am afraid i might get bullied.

Shall we define what's a genuine club then?

I really dont know if a club can be a good place to get into a relationship.. I've always gone to a clubb or pub to enjoy it... some times.. yea by enjoying the beautiful bods with or around, but most of the times to sip on to my Whisky and talk to my friends.. abt everything.. to open up yoa spirit

Genuine love is the one which eliminates the Ego between people. It extends the personal boundary or the personal bubble, to include the one you love. In such a relationship you wouldnt have to make adjustments for each other coz what he/ she is the reason to love that person.

I keep hearing that clubbing cant b a start for a genuine relationship.. but I believe it can happen from anywhere. not that u fall in love with a person at first glance.. but they say love has no boundaries..

A thread about GENUINE LOVE is fine dude. But i think St. Luci already defined what's genuine love for him. If others want to share their own definition about the subject, then it's worth making a thread. Yallah Dude!

Clubs were created for us alpha males to pickup chicks, score, and then kick them out the morning after.








Anyway, more seriously, clubs are the WORST place to start a good relationship. Trust me on that one. No need for me to comment this, give examples or more details. It's a fact. Sure there can be exceptions but not worth it to spend your time looking for your soulmate there!

I think Nick is right. I have known a few couples that formed based on an original one-night fling after a night club, but they didn't all last. It can happen, but I think it is rare.

No, I have never done anything at a club except dance with my group of friends. I wasn't into the meat market side of clubbing. However, I have met some couples who said they first met at a club. One couple was married with kids and they admitted they were only supposed to be a one night stand.

Same here, again there are rare exceptions or one in a million.

I think it also depends on what kind of clubs and the atmosphere inside the clubs that we're going to. Some of my friends met their partner in a club and their relationship last.

is there a best place anyway to start a normal relationship? one of my friends used to say, she goes to the office to work, to the pool to swim, to the shop to buy things, to the disco to dance, etc. so we would always tease her about what is then the place to meet ppl and maybe start a relationship?
the guy with whom she is planning to buy an apartmant and get married is from a night out with the girls.
some meet on the internet and go straight to the altar. i came to this stupid city for smbody i picked up on the metro during summer vacation. an ex co worker of mine is already having a child and life with a guy with whom both her and her friend had slept, one after the other, after some crazy night out. a friend couple got married this summer after several years of being together and they got together because he was begging her practically on his knees and almost failed all his exams cos of her rejection, so finally she felt pity for him and decided to give in, thinking she would kick him out after he passed his tests.

so how can anyone tell whats the best place?

gorgeous and ravashing with heart of gold will wait for the good genuine man to come and talk to her....i guess! so better for the good man to raise his a$$ from sitting at the corner table and go talk to her!

perfect sense to me

nothing good has ever happened in or come out of a club in my experience... except for the hour or two of exercise from getting your groove on.

But even still my preference is a calm atmosphere, a cup of coffee, and a good conversation.

plus there is too many guys that will try to chat you up first that you will not have a chance to notice the good guy chatting to a frined. anyway forget club not best place to make a good relationship. it is too loud to get the name of the person not alone get to know them a bit, club is nice for dancing and harmless flirting.
