Ok so Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (phew!) was released here in the UK today, and I'm away to book tickets for me and a few mates to go and see it in Aberdeen tomorrow.

So I was just wondering, will the film be shown in Dubai, or will it be banned because of it's crude content? Or just the fact it takes the p*ss out of Kazakhstan?

It has been banned. Article about it in the paper, half the censors walked out. I suspect mostly because they didn't understand it.

When will the ministry of information decide its useless to censor movies in the theaters when you have the internet, the Chinese man at any cafe on SZR available to most people to get those movies ??

I saw it on Friday night....overall it was funny, very sarcastic, a lot of political undertones (esp concerning bush), and very obscene (sometimes a bit too much for me)

but I wouldn't say I laughed the whole time like some others in the theater..like some people were just out of control dying of laughter and I definetely wasn't.
.....There was a REALLY gross part that I just could not watch (just think fat naked men). What was annoying was the couple sitting next to me in the theater were laughing so LOUD that I missed a lot of the jokes because I couldn't hear anything over their loud laughter

If it comes on TV in another year I might watch it if I am bored. I wouldn't pay money to see a Borat movie.

Well, I went to see Borat on Friday and it was excellent! Very very funny.

It's the most politically incorrect, racist, sexist film you'll ever see in your life!

I don't want to give too much away but if that sounds like your kind of humour (dry and raw) then watch this film!
