Hi all

I am over on the 4th untill 11th Nov with a friend and just want to know anything good happening ie festivals etc that would be good to go to

There is a Liverpool game on the 7th so any bars/clubs where I could watch it, Ill be staying around Walid Road Bur Dubai so ,
any good clubs that play Rnb/soul music??

what is the Situation with alcohol?? can it only be bought in hotels or are there any off licenses/ shops etc where we could buy

and finally the main reason why Im coming is for work, Im in IT profession so any Recruitment agencies recommended ??

You can only get Hard drinks in the bar or hotel and its NOT permitted to carry or drink outside, you can get 6 months jail.. straight!

There are plenty of clubs on the street you are planning to stay and can have surely good time.

What kind of IT field you are into? If you can be more specific, maybe I can help you in this.

Goodfellows bar in the Regal Plaza Hotel is a decent pub for sports and will probably have the football. It's in Bur Dubai, on the corner of Mankhool and Khalid bin al Whaleed roads.

If you're staying in a hotel, chances are the hotel will have a bar or several bars, and they may well be showing the football.

Alcohol cannot be bought in shops. There are some outlets, but they require a licence which can only be obtained by residents. Many people do a booze run to the Barracuda (hotel and well stocked booze shop) in Umm Al Quwain, another emirate about 50km away. It's next door to Dreamland water park.
