I want to buy a new laptop, and finally came down to 2 options, one is with Intel Duo-Core processor where the other is AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processer !!
To be honest I never tried AMD and know nothing about their products !! my question here is what is the difference between the 2 and which one is better ???!
If you're looking at a Centrino Vs. a Turion, the Centrino has better battery life, the Turion has better performance, especially for floating point and out of order executions.
The Turion I believe is slightly cheaper, but runs hotter and is less energy efficient, leading to less battery times. If you think you're going to be using the battery a lot, go with the Centrino.
Both are sufficiently fast enough for almost everything, but if you intend to play games, look very strongly at the graphics card. Integrated Graphics will not cut it, and a lot of Centrino laptops only use integrated graphics.
Hope this helps.
