Anyone know where i can get female fighting fish (Betta) in dubai? I only manage to find male ones around.

I have seen opaque and blood red female Bettas at the Sharjah Animal Souq - the long finned males are abound everywhere else.

So what does she look like? Do you have a pic? That way if I see her I'll make sure to tell her you were looking for her.

The female looks similar to the male and probably thats the reason why you are confused.

Look at the fins for identification...the male's fins are flowing, the female has shorter fins

I post this thread because i wish to find my male betta (I brought from Singapore) a femlae partner.

I know plenty of sharks, most of them cant even swim

No? Just put 2 fighting fish in two separate clear plastic bag and move the plastic bag closer to each other you will see the 2 fish fins up and ready to blast the other fish!

Not true at all..... I used to breed them in Singapore and i have all of them in a tank from young. If they grow up together from young, it will be ok.

the reason i am looking for a female one is to breed them here and maybe i can give away some to ppl from DF if they are interested. But i have to locate a place that sell female betta 1st.

Did you try the aquarium shop in Satwa (near bus station) or the pet shop in Sahara mall?

Or try World of Fishes at Karama

Other places are Petland near Mazaya centre and the numerous pet shops at Sharjah animal soux or closer to Lals Supermarket in Satva
