I fhave been trying to get hold of this 1993 classic (Oscar niminee) for some time and finally managed to get my hands onto it. Watched it this morning and just had to say something about it. The utter injustice of what happend to these people still manage to shock me.
If you dont know, its based on the wrongfull imprisonment of 4 people for the 1974 bombings in London that killed 5 people. They served 15 years of their 30 year sentence before they finally got their case dismissed. And the authorities knew all along who the guilty parties were, but needed a scapegoat quickly and couldnt admit to their mistake once the real bomber came forward.
Daniel Day Lewis is awesome in this and I still cant believe that Tom Hanks beat him for the Oscar for Best Male Lead for his role in Philadelphia.
Anyone seen it?
