Alright Guys ,... For sure each and every one of us have a fav dish, and it can only be cooked to perfection by our grannies way back home ,...

since im from Pinoy Islands i miss BALOT !!!, Paelya, Binalot from Laguna

Balot = Its an unborn Chick still in the shell, tap n crack the egg once its open just add a lil alt to taste then viola !!!! chicken soup naturale!!!!
GOOD Points = its a natural Viagra!!!! like the energizer bunny 2 of these eggs would make you go on and on and on and on ......

Paelya = since are family is actually (50/50) Spanish Filipino mix My Granny makes the Best Paelya in Philippines, paelya is mixed seafoods cooked with rice... it is just heavenly hay .(mouth watering reminiscing.....)

Binalot = Now binalot is a cool dish from laguna!! (binalot = wrapped) Literally from its name ... rice, salted egg, tomato & onions and stewed Chicken is wrapped with banana leaves ... then you eat it there and then !!!!!!

Interesting, but I'll stick to good ol' whisky to keep my flag at full mast!!
The Binalot sounds good to me though.

Well I am partial to a dish called Chitterlings.

ing, especially to my non-swine eating fans, but I am from the south, where anything taste good with enough hot sauce!!

It is pig intestine, with the inner lining removed. Then boiled with assorted spices and veggies like garlic, bellpepper, or onion. Put it in a bowl with vinegar, hot sauce...LOTS of hot sauce!, salt,and pepper. It makes the entire house stink, so that are cooked outside! Ummm Ummmm!!

Another thing I enjoy is Sweet potato pie.
But it is only good if a grandma makes it!

ISAW, that's how we call it. You must try the chicken intestine too,remove the dirt inside. Boil it with vinegar, and flavor it with food coloring so it wil look nice. Put it on stick, then grill it. Served with vinegar or hotsauce. yummy!

Must try GINATAANG SUSO, its small snails cooked with coconut oil and vegetables and spices.

ADOBONG PUSIT, fresh squids marinated with soysauce, garlic and vinegar. Cook it with oil, ginger garlic, onion then put the squids, pour water til the squids are tender, put spices. wow!

MANGGANG HILAW AT BAGOONG, fresh unriped mango dipped with special shrimp pickle sauce.

My fav dish is: 3 chopped tomatos + 2 chopped cucumbers + 1 chopped onion + 3 table spoons of sunflower oil (now the oil is important you can't use olive oil or other veg oils - just good sunflower oil). And finally one spoon of salt.
Mix it well and eat with bread...

You can also add some tofu and chopped capsicum to this salad...

Hey.. had seen this half hatched egg thing!!. Had a colleague of mine drooling all over!!!. But it looks gross to me! Yuck!! But I guess one man's food is another man's poison. So Maganda babays..... enjoy yourselves.

Talking about fav dishes.... my fav dish is 'Goan Sausages' These are spicy... oily.... juciy... pork sausages. Very different from any of the sausages that you see here. The sausages are made of pork meat in various spicies and stuff into intestines!! Yuck????

Ha ha ha.... anybody for Goan sausages... let me know. By the way.. 'Goan' refers to saugages coming out of a place called Goa in India.

yeah thats excellent! try potato salad and macaroni salad too, note: use non fat mayonnaise

i love tradtional bengali food from the syhlet area of bangladesh .my fav is lamb meat with potatoes cooked in thick sauce made with onions,tomatoes,haldi ,chill and zeera power.yum

has any one tried bombay duck it smells while cooking but tastes great.
