What Awaits Non-Muslims In The Hereafter

What awaits non-Muslims in the hereafter Oct 30, 2010
I thought a thread should be started quoting the Koran and Hadith so non-Muslims are aware of the punishment which awaits them for not converting to Islam.

The Koran says that those who have disbelieved the signs will have their skins burned and replaced with new skins in an infinitely long and never ending process:

4:56: "Those who have disbelieved in Our signs - We will burn them in fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We will exchange them for other skins so that they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise."

The faces of unbelievers will burn with boiling water and they will wear garments of fire:

22:19-20: "These two opponents dispute [with each other] about their Lord. But those who disbelieve will have garments of fire cut out for them. Over their heads will be poured boiling water. With it will be scalded what is within their bellies as well as [their] skins."

Sinners will be bound in chains and have their faces burned with fire:

14:49-50 "And you will see the sinners that Day bound together in chains and yokes - their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered with fire."

The lips of unbelievers will burn off in their eternal torment:

23:103-4 "But those who scales [of good] are light, those are the ones who have lost their souls; [they will abide] in Hell eternally. The fire will burn, their faces, and they will [appear to] grin therein, their lips displaced."

No body part will be spared from eternal pain, not even the backs of unbelievers:

21:39-40 "If only the unbelievers knew [about] when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor from their backs, and [that] they will not be helped. No, but it will come to them suddenly and confound them. And they will not be able to avert it, nor will they be given respite."

The faces of unbelievers will be dragged through the fire:

54"47-8 "Truly, the criminals are in error and madness. The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, [they will hear], 'Taste the touch of Hell'"

And through boiling water and fire:

40:69 "Do you not see those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah - how they are turned away [from truth]? Those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers - soon they will know. When the yokes [will be] round their necks and the chains. They will be dragged in the boiling water. Then in the Fire they will be burned."

The Sunnah also tells us that women will make up the majority of hell's inhabitants:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 28. " Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said: "I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful." It was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or are they ungrateful to Allah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from you."

Another hadith says that the least suffering of unbelievers (Muhammad's unbelieving uncle who died in Jihad with Muhammad, for instance) will have their brains boil from standing on coals:

Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0414, "Nu'man b. Bashir was delivering an address and saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: the least suffering for the inhabitants of Hell on the Day of Resurrection would be for the man under whose soles would be placed two embers and his brain would boil on account of them."

The Koran also says that hell's inhabitants will be nourished with a 'bitter thorned fruit' and drink boiling water:

44.43-46 "Surely the tree of the Zaqqum, is the food of the sinful. Like dregs of oil; it shall boil in (their) bellies, like the boiling of hot water."

The Koran says that punishment and torture will be eternal:
5:037 "They will desire to come forth from the Fire, but they will not come forth from it; for them awaits a lasting chastisement.:

Their torment will not be lightened:

43:74-75 Lo! the guilty are immortal in hell's torment. It is not relaxed for them, and they despair therein.

2:167 and those that followed say, 'O if only we might return again and disown them, as they have disowned us!' Even so God shall show them their works. O bitter regrets for them! Never shall they issue from the Fire.

Hell's tortures will never lighten nor end:

35:36 As for the unbelievers, theirs shall be the fire of Gehenna; they shall neither be done with and die, nor shall its chastisement be lightened for them. Even so We recompense every ungrateful one.

Hmmm... Tough choice who should one listen to an actual muslim who is educated in the subject or an arm chair Imam with a chip on his shoulder, difficult choice that is.

From the religious texts it looks to me like both Christianity and Islam emphasize sinners being tormented in the fires of hell for eternity. Isn't that the purpose of this kind of story? To get people to be believers and follow the prescriptions of the religion so they can spare themselves from eternal damnation?

I agree with you that is the message of the Koran, disagree with you that that's the message the New Testament sends.

But again, and be honest, you've never looked into what the NT actually says, you're just 'agreeing' that they're both equally 'bad' so you don't have a chubby Muslim wagging his finger at you for your Islamophobia.

LoL.
