yeah, prejudice and narrow mindedness! i guess having theses qualities is a blessing in this case..
but the fooker has a point.. if there is no "coercion" then these acts must be OK and should even be welcomed to prevail in any decent modern society.. especially the liberated act of necrophilia; where no one can ever claim there's any hint of rejection from the sexual subject and hence no coercion involved! and there's also the valid argument that no corpse in its sane mind would possibly object to any trial to bring it back to life!

so in the light of great Martijn's teachings, i say let's be broad minded about it and decriminalize necrophilia, let all those sweet necrophiliacs dig all the fresh graves they can lay their hands on in search for their legalized pleasure!

yeah i read it in BBC....... That's the side effect of living in free society . Just think being gay was a taboo 25 yrs ago. Now they say " u must be open minded to accept em". During ancient times there were child marriages ......so it all depends on the soceity and the norm.

this isn't ancient times and paedophilia is not child marriage (which was not exactly the best thing that ever happened), paedophilia is a criminal act because it violates the rights or another human being, a minor who can not protect itself. it is parallell to rape even if the victim was supposed to have concented to it because unlike adults, a child can be manipulated in so many ways into accepting this sort of intrusion. a poor toddler can be seduced with toys, chocolate and things he had never tasted or seen before, an older child can be convinced with money or drugs or any other favour!

Hashman no we're not living in ancient times, but you do bring up a valid point. Child marriages happen in India, the Middle East and many other countries.

Girls as soon as they hit puberty are married off, they can 12,13,14,15, why does no one find this sick? Especially when the marriages are arranged, the choice is taken away from the 'child' they are forced to get married and to sleep with their husbands, is this also not parallel to child abuse?

I lived many years in the middle east, and have merely heard that such things as child marriages were happening in some villages in the past. I'm letting you know that these bad cultural habbits have dissappeared to the most extent. The first step is to acknowledge that there is something wrong.

Now it's your turn to acknowledge that there something wrong with some western societies, then face the shortcomings. There's no need to justify things by pointing to the "others".

Er and when exactly did I say that what the Dutch are allowing was acceptable? I didnt I said it was sick! And I don't understand why anyone would do that in the first place.

I was merely expanding on OC's point. And these things still do happen in some countries. Yes it's on the decline which is true, but still happens and I find that unacceptable also.

I'm not anti-western. In my posts, I have praised many aspects of the western society. I have also been a self-critique.

On the contrary, you can't do that. You are not able to be a self-critique. This is something you need to learn. I'm not interested in critisizing. Note that I wasn't interested in using the original post to further critisize anybody or anything. It is your tone and attitude that is irritating.

This is not new. I have read posts that are months old. You used the same tone with those who critisized the west (you had big fights with Liban), even with those who defend what is not western.

MS, I meant I am perfectly aware of the faults of the west! But there are faults in every society, be they east, west pink, yellow, green.
