It turns out Ahmad thought rather highly of himself and said that Muslims who do not accept him as the Messiah and prophet are kafirs, non-believers.
The ironic part (I guess) is that Ahmadis are considered non-believers by the vast majority of Muslims today and during Mirza Ahmad's lifetime.
"(3) the belief that all those so-called Muslims who have not entered into his [Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's] bai`at formally, wherever they may be, are Kafirs and outside the pale of Islam, even though they may not have heard the name of the Promised Messiah. That these beliefs have my full concurrence, I readily admit."

So, do Muslims know what Ahmadis think of them?
It would be interesting to hear real thoughts regarding this subject as it turns out that al-Qaeda isn't the only group that practices takfiri - Ahmadis do it too!
It just goes to show how religious fanatics - Ahmadi, etc., are two sides of the same coin.
