Happy Islamic New Year Jan 09, 2008
Assalamalaikum To All
Tomorrow is the fisrt Day of Islamic Year, congragulate for all the Muslims. Lets compare Islamic and other New Years.....

January teachs only Dancing, Hop and Drinking.......
Dewali teachs only colours........
Jewist celebrate Grand Pardon Day as happines......

but Islam teachs Muslims to do for Islam, because at first Muharram the Second Caliph of Islam Hazrat Umar Farouq has martyred and at 10th Muharram the grand son of Holy prophet Hazrat Imam Hussain has martyred in Karbala......and also more Islamic war situated in Muharram.
Islam invits Mulsim to come and do something for Islam.....I think this is wisdom of ALLAH..........Today Islam Needs struggle as Karbala........[/b]

A happy new year to you too.

To my knowledge Islam does not invite muslims to do anything in particular on the first of Muharram than on any other day of the year.

The fact that some battles and a tragic martyrdom (which was part of a civil war, muslim kiling muslim) is not related to the new year in my mind and is not a way in which to commemorate a new year.

Rather one should revert to the core teachings of Islam which is the complete submission of one's ego to the will of God in order that we may be at peace. This means meeting our obligations to God - praying, purifying ourselves by constantly examining our actions and motives - and meeting our obligations to others - doing good deeds, words and thoughts to all people. This includes acting against injustices, but it would be hypocritical for us to jump to this without first addressing our personal failings.

If we learn anything from Karbala it is the dignity of the holy family that was slain there and their complete adherance to the tenets of Islam which they demonstrated were peaceful at its core.

Lastly, welcome to DubaiForums!

Cheers,
Shafique

Assalamoalaikum

I think that you did not understand my expression completely,
In fact we have to become a peaceful person in the world, but in case someone will not give you permission for peace, pray, justice and peaceful etc.
Henceforth what shall you do…….
Today we are (Afghans) stand in above mention position; we are occupying by some arbitrary forces.
Now we have not rights than other nations, we can not perform our pray and more worships in freedom, no justice no law……..no rights……..& no respect…….around Afghanistan …….
You could percept occupied nations……….
I would like to write more but can not because I am remembering my …………..
Sorry don’t minds…...but I promise that we will be proved a patient and peaceful nation in the world……….

Happy New Year!

What is stopping Afghans from praying and being devoutly religious? I don't see how the armies fighting Taleban groups robs the average citizen of Afghanistan of their right and ability to pray to their God.
