Hey folks - good tunes. Just come back from a day of camping - away from the phone, internet and civilisation (well almost). Listened to Bob Marley on the way back.. but enjoyed the selections above.
Here's my H&O and JK selection - the second more for the video than the song! ... Zonker - you're welcome any time.. my coladas are all 'virgin' though.
Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear: o clouds unfold! Bring me my chariots of fire! I will not cease from metal fight; Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand Till we have built jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land.
The unofficial 'anthem' of England from the poem written by William Blake. A tribute to the generations that have gone before us to preserve that 'green and pleasant land' for 'England & St. George!
We'll be singing When we're winning We'll be singing I get knocked down But I get up again You're never going to keep me down I get knocked down But I get up again You're never going to keep me down Pissing the night away He drinks a whisky drink He drinks a vodka drink He drinks a lager drink He drinks a cider drink He sings the songs that remind him Of the good times He sings the songs that remind him Of the better times "Oh Danny Boy Danny Boy..." I get knocked down But i get up again You're never Goin to keep me down
Till we have built jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land.
Held by British grandmas, as their anthem
And yet another Great Briton, Fatboy Slim Only this one isn't fat but he does live by the beach. Brighton! Good dance moves! I think it must be a slimming class
I can see how you appreciate Rihanna, FD, she is a fine looking woman. She was interviewed on the Jonathon Ross show the other evening and I have to say she was very likeable, very natural and seemed down to earth. She was blonde on Friday. There is word that she may be back with Chris Brown. What is it with us women?
Oh na na what's my name?

Another up and coming (and alive) young star from the same Britpop school as Adele is Jessie J.
Okay, Coconut man, Moon Heads and pea You ready?
Seems like everybody's got a price, I wonder how they sleep at night. When the sale comes first, And the truth comes second, Just stop for a minute and Smile
Why is everybody so serious? Acting so damn mysterious?

I like music that brings back memories for me. I remember this one from 2001. It was a particularly bad time for me. My middle daughter had a near death experience and recovered but with brain damage, my mother died after she had (unintentionally) set fire to herself and our farm was struck down with foot and mouth disease and all the cattle were slaughtered and burnt on the farm. The smell was ing and the sight of it all was quite horrific. I decided to take Beth away as she was only 5 years old and decided to go to Dubai as we had never been there before. We stayed in Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Beth liked to go to the Go West restaurant for dinner. The group that played there were very good and did a very good Shaggy impression. They were singing this song when I first set eyes on my Mr Emirati He came over and introduced himself to Beth.
Yo man Yo Open up man What do you want man? My girl just caught me You let her catch you?
I don't know how I let this happen With who? The girl next door, you know? Man I don't know what to do Say it wasn't you
Zoom, just one look and then my heart went boom Suddenly and we were on the moon Flying high on the neon sky, oh
Bang, just one touch and All the church bells rang Heaven called and all the angel sang Sunrise shine in the morning sky, oh Zoom, you chase the day away High noon, the moon And stars came out to play Then my whole wide world went zoom (I passed the rainbow as it went flying by Faster and faster we were higher than high)
For once in my lifetime, I was finally free and you gave that to me
Here's one for the home boys, as they say 'an uptempo blast from the past'
Living on free food tickets Water in the milk from a hole in the roof Where the rain came through What can you do?
Tears from your little sister Crying 'cause she doesn't have a dress Without a patch for the party to go But you know she'll get by
'Cause she's living in the love of the common people Smile's from the heart of a family man Daddy's gonna buy you a dream to cling to Mama's gonna love you just as much as she can, and she can
It's a good thing you don't have a bus fare It would fall through the hole in your pocket and you'd lose it In the snow on the ground You got to walk into town to find a job
Tryin' to keep your hands warm When the hole in your shoe lets the snow come through And chills you to the bone Now you'd better go home where it's warm

And another uptempo blast from the past! (I sound like Tony Blackburn, now then pop pickers! )
